How to reach Corfu (Kerkyra)
By airplane to Corfu. The island of Corfu is well connected to all major European cities. Most scheduled airlines fly to Athens and then it is possible to catch a domestic flight to Corfu, on a daily basis (i.e., two morning flights and two evening flights from/to Athens). There are also direct flights from/to Thessaloniki. The domestic flight from Athens or Thessaloniki to Corfu lasts 50 minutes. Moreover, during the summer period, and until the end of September, direct Charter flights operate from major European cities. Please contact your travel agent for details.
Corfu International Airport, Ioannis Kapodistrias, is about 2km to the south of Corfu Town (Airport Code: CFU). There is no bus service between the airport and the town centre but there are taxis available outside the airport terminal all the time.
By ferry to Corfu. If you are travelling by ferry there are crossings from Venice. Sail down the Grand Canal and admire the sites. You can also catch a ferry from Ancona, Bari or Brindisi in Italy. The two latter ports are nearest to Corfu and are therefore shorter crossings. The port is about 2Km away from the town centre.
If you stop at Igoumenitsa there is a frequent ferry connection to Corfu every day from 5am to 10pm, reaching the island in about 2 hours.
